Marketing Analytics, Attribution & Conversion Tracking Consulting

Lehi, Utah · Serving Businesses Nationwide

Blackout helps Utah and nationwide businesses connect advertising, website conversions, analytics, CRM data, and customer outcomes into a measurement system leadership can actually use. The goal is not perfect attribution. It is better evidence for deciding where marketing dollars should go next.

The short answer

Marketing analytics and attribution consulting helps a business define the actions that matter, collect those signals responsibly, connect them to downstream outcomes where the systems allow it, and explain the limits that remain. Blackout works across acquisition platforms, websites, GA4, GTM, UTMs, CRM source data, offline outcomes, and ecommerce economics so leadership can distinguish marketing activity from qualified pipeline or profitable customer growth.

Attribution is never a perfect reconstruction of every influence. Consent, device changes, browser restrictions, offline conversations, platform models, missing identifiers, and inconsistent CRM use all create limits. A useful measurement system makes those limits visible instead of hiding them behind one authoritative-looking number.

What this work can include

GA4 measurement architecture

Review the events, conversions, parameters, audiences, channel reporting, and data-quality assumptions that support the decisions your team needs to make. A tag appearing on a page does not prove the right event arrived once, with the right values, under the right consent state.

Google Tag Manager

Review container installation, tag and trigger logic, duplicate firing, naming, version history, consent dependencies, and the difference between a configured tag and a validated business event. Publishing rights and production changes are defined separately.

Google Ads conversion tracking

Separate useful primary conversions from diagnostic or secondary activity. Review calls, forms, purchases, enhanced conversions, offline outcomes, attribution settings, and the handoff between platform reporting and qualified customer evidence.

For a single, reproducible lead-form defect rather than a wider measurement review, start with Conversion Tracking Rescue.

Meta measurement

Review browser and server-side signals where they exist, event definitions, deduplication, domains, attribution settings, lead or purchase quality, and the limits of comparing Meta reporting directly with GA4 or a CRM.

UTMs and lead-source capture

Create or repair a naming system that can survive handoffs between campaigns, landing pages, forms, CRM records, and reporting. UTMs label a visit; they do not by themselves prove that a campaign caused the eventual sale.

CRM connections and offline outcomes

Map the usable path from inquiry to qualification, opportunity, customer, revenue, or rejection reason. Identify missing associations, inconsistent lifecycle definitions, and the point where the available evidence stops. For HubSpot-specific lifecycle and pipeline work, review HubSpot Marketing Attribution & Pipeline Consulting.

Qualified pipeline

Define the difference between a form fill, a contacted lead, an accepted opportunity, a proposal, and a customer. Marketing decisions improve when the team can see which sources produce suitable conversations—not merely the least expensive records.

Ecommerce and customer economics

Connect advertising and storefront behavior to purchases, contribution margin, repeat purchase, discounts, returns, and available customer-value signals. Platform ROAS can be useful, but it is not the same thing as profit or incrementality.

The measurement questions worth answering

  • Which actions are decision-grade conversions, and which are only engagement signals?
  • Are GA4, Google Ads, Meta, Shopify, and the CRM counting the same event differently for explainable reasons?
  • Can a qualified lead, purchase, or offline outcome be associated with the acquisition evidence that is actually available?
  • Are test, internal, spam, duplicate, or low-quality outcomes separated from customer activity?
  • Where do consent, missing identifiers, offline steps, or inconsistent sales-process use limit confidence?
  • Which report should leadership use for each decision?
  • A practical measurement system

01 / Define the business outcome

Agree on the decision, the customer milestone, the responsible team, and the reporting window before choosing another dashboard or tag.

02 / Audit the collection path

Trace the public journey from traffic source to website action and downstream system. Validate events and fields with live evidence where authorized; do not treat configuration screens as delivery proof.

03 / Reconcile the systems

Explain where platform, analytics, ecommerce, and CRM figures should agree, where they legitimately differ, and which gaps prevent a useful comparison.

04 / Improve the smallest useful layer

Prioritize the events, source fields, outcome imports, associations, exclusions, and reporting changes that materially improve the next decision. Avoid rebuilding the whole stack when one broken handoff is the real constraint.

05 / Document the limits

Record consent conditions, attribution windows, missing coverage, model differences, offline gaps, and operational dependencies. A reliable report includes what it cannot establish.

A first-party measurement example

On Blackout’s own Shopify site, one production navigation was sending two GA4 page-view requests to the same analytics destination. Network evidence traced one request to automatic Google-tag page-view generation and the other to Shopify’s manual page_viewed event.

Blackout tested a bounded correction that disabled only the automatic page view while preserving Shopify’s existing event path. In isolated prepublication testing, the homepage, Google Ads Management page, and one research page each sent one successful GA4 page-view request and retained one successful Merchant Center page-view request. The tested requests used the correct page location and title, and no personal information was detected.

The correction was published on October 13, 2026. Successful collection responses confirmed network delivery under the tested conditions; they did not prove that every GA4 report, attribution model, browser, region, or consent state was accurate. That distinction is part of the work: verify what the evidence establishes and document what remains unproven.

What attribution can and cannot establish

Attribution can organize evidence about touchpoints and outcomes. It cannot prove that every recorded interaction caused a sale, recover data that was never collected, or eliminate uncertainty from a multi-touch buying process. Blackout separates observed delivery, modeled platform credit, CRM association, and verified business outcomes rather than collapsing them into one claim.

This work does not promise perfect tracking, complete cross-device identity, guaranteed platform matching, or a single source that resolves every discrepancy. The agreed scope identifies the systems, events, access, implementation responsibilities, and validation steps included.

Where this fits in Blackout’s growth system

Measurement supports acquisition, conversion, and budget decisions across Growth Systems. It often works alongside Google Ads Management, Meta Ads Management, SEO + AI Search Consulting, or Ecommerce Growth Consulting.

For a focused starting point, use the Measurement & Attribution Readiness Analyzer. It is a planning aid, not a live audit of your analytics or CRM.

Related evidence

Blackout’s 2026 Utah Digital Acquisition Practices Study examines visible public-site implementation practices. It does not measure private analytics accuracy, ad performance, CRM performance, or sales outcomes. That boundary is useful: public conversion paths and private outcome measurement are related, but they are not the same evidence.

Common questions

Is GA4 the source of truth?

GA4 is one important source for website and app behavior. Advertising platforms, ecommerce systems, CRMs, call systems, and finance records answer different questions. The right source depends on the business decision and the quality of each connection.

Can Blackout fix tracking without rebuilding our website?

Sometimes. The answer depends on the platform, current implementation, consent requirements, development access, and the event or handoff that is failing. A focused diagnostic or scoped project may be appropriate when the problem is bounded.

Will every platform report the same number?

No. Attribution models, identity, time zones, windows, consent, deduplication, and event rules can produce legitimate differences. The objective is to understand the differences and make decisions from comparable evidence.

Does this include HubSpot consulting?

The broad measurement engagement can include CRM connections within an agreed scope. The existing HubSpot Attribution & Pipeline Consulting page explains the specialist work around HubSpot sources, lifecycle stages, contacts, deals, pipeline, and revenue fields.

Do you guarantee complete attribution?

No. Blackout improves collection, definitions, connections, validation, and decision clarity. It does not promise perfect identity resolution, causal proof, or complete recovery of missing historical data.

Make the next budget decision with better evidence

Bring the systems you use, the outcome leadership needs to understand, and the discrepancies you cannot currently explain. Blackout will define the smallest useful measurement scope and make the remaining limits explicit.
